Hotels in Dubai

Choices are endless when it comes to choosing a hotel while spending your holidays in Dubai depending on what you like to be surrounded with and enjoy. Hotels in Dubai mostly fit into 3 main groups:

1- Downtown Hotels: If you like to be in the middle of the action and don’t mind the noise, then you should choose a hotel in the downtown area, enjoy the old bazaars, late hours shopping, lots of traffic, and seeing both old and new Dubai in one place. Downtown hotels vary from a “no star” rating to five stars, but I would recommend you stick to the 4 and 5 star hotels if you can afford them!

2- Beach Hotels: If you enjoy water sports, love sun and white sandy beaches, then Dubai is has a lot to offer, most beach hotels are a bit outside of the city and tend to be more quite and better rated. Most beach hotels are rated 5 stars (well there is one that is rated 7 stars - Burj Al Arab).

3- Business Hotels: Those are mostly 4 and 5 star hotels and offer a mix of downtown living as well as easy access to modern Dubai. Those hotels are mostly located around Dubai World Trade Center which hosts a number of regional events and exhibitions between year round and Business Bay area, home of Burj Dubai, the world’s tallest building. Business Hotels are also close to modern shopping centers and malls like Mall of the Emirates.

So what does your heart desire? The choice is yours and the selection could not be greater!

Burj Dubai, The World’s Tallest Building

What would you expect to see while spending your holidays in Dubai? Nothing less than the world’s tallest building called “Burj Dubai”, it is one of many iconic landmarks in Dubai, it has more than 160 floors, 50+ elevators, apartments, shops, swimming pools, spas, corporate suites, Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani’s first hotel, and an observation platform on the 124th floor. Burj Dubai is the icon of the new and prosperous Middle East, it is the symbol of Dubai’s success and regional aspirations in the twenty first century.

Burj Dubai is not the only building you would want to see in Dubai, there are many others like the world’s only seven star hotel “Burj Al Arab” shaped like a billowing ship sail, Hydropolis, an underwater luxury hotel, the world’s largest shopping malls like Mall of the Emirates and Dubai Mall, the largest indoors ski slope “Ski Dubai” and not to mention the number of man made islands that have their own set of architectures like The World, WaterFront and The Palm.

The World is like nothing else on this planet! 300 man made islands shaped like the world in the Arabian Gulf, WaterFront is the largest masterplanned water front development in the world and is double the size of Honk Kong! and The Palm, The Palm Jebel Ali, and The Palm Deira are three man made islands shaped like a Palm, each is a city by itself that has a number of towers, private villas with private beaches, and a number of signature architectures.

If you manage to see and visit all of the above landmarks, you are up to a great start spending your holidays in Dubai … but we just got started, there is a lot more to see and do while in Dubai!

The diverse nature of Dubai and its expatriate community makes it a very unique destination no matter what your heart desires.

Dubai is one of seven emirates that came together to form the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the year 1971 and is located the South West corner of the Arabian Gulf and sets on approximately 2,400 square miles area. Many international enterprises have regional headquarters in the Emirate taking advantage of the tax free incentives offered by the government, strategic location, low crime rate and multi cultural pool of talents from over 200 countries that represent more than 80% of Dubai’s population.

The weather in Dubai is sub-tropical, bringing warm sunshine most of the year, with cooler evenings and occasional showers from November to March. Temperatures reach as low as 10 degrees Celsius (50 Fahrenheit) in January and as high as 48 degrees Celsius (118 Fahrenheit) in July … but don’t let the heat ruin your holidays! Despite the high temperatures, you could be skiing in Dubai!

This modern city is built to beat the heat and attract tourists and vacationers 365 days a year, take for example Mall of the Emirates, one of the largest malls in the world that happens to have the largest indoor ski slope called “Ski Dubai” that operates year round … while having spending your holidays in Dubai, you could be enjoying the beach in the morning, skiing in the afternoon, then shop till you literally drop in the evening! Did I mention white beaches and blue waters? Plenty of water sports from swimming to jet skiing, wind surfing, snorkeling, diving, deep sea fishing and kayaking. There are also a number of water parks that operate year round and offer fun for everyone like “Wild Wadi” and “Aqua Park”

But wait there is more …

Dubai is home to the world’s tallest building “Burj Dubai”, the largest man made islands “The World” and “The Palm”, the biggest adventure park “Dubailand” and the one and only seven stars hotel “Burj Al Arab”
